The midle of last month some
strange sculking indians kiled a
planter in the open [parts] of James
River neare his howse, and tho
parsued, as soon as men got
togeather; could not be found in
the woods nor have been heard of since
The Eight instant I went to the
laying the foundation and first
brick of the Coledge building —
ordered by their Comitee to be
that day, is all materiall since the
flett sailed the 17th of June
I pray your Continued favor
on my Endeavors for His Majtys:
service in these parts and am
